The Ostlers Bar is steeped in history and tradition, with a lovely roaring fire which burns most days to welcome all. There is a cosy, comfortable seating area around the wood-burner to warm up by or relax and read the paper over a pint or cuppa.
We serve food all day from our bar menu, with additional choices from our specials board and lighter choices at lunchtimes such as sandwiches and soup. All our food is home-made and we use locally-sourced meat and have some good house wines to complement any meal from Healy & Gray.
For that afternoon tipple or evening drink we have a choice of real ales – normally Timothy Taylor Landlord and Black Sheep Best Bitter, plus a guest ale – and for the cider lover Old Rosie (plus a guest cider) – all on hand pull.
There is plenty of choice for spirit lovers, with a good selection of single malt whiskeys, gins, vodkas and other spirits and liqueurs – there’s bound to be something to suit everyone. Two particular favourites of our gamekeeper guests are the Grey Goose and Belvedere vodkas – we seem to have to replenish supplies fairly regularly!
